There are two times in life when death visits.
- When youth is abundant
- When the elderly are looking to you as you once looked to them
Death is unwelcome, but always sits at the table.
It is patient, but punctual.
When your time has come it is never late, nor early, but we are never ready.
I guess that’s why we call it loss.
We are with loss because death has come and gone.
We weren’t ready, so when we look for what left with death after dinner we feel a loss.
We’ve lost the new conversation with an older ld part of our lives.
We hold on the memories of conversations we’ve lost.
Only to be at a loss for what we assumed death forgot.

Next time I want to call you, I will, but you’ll not answer.
